2 Minute Guitar Tricks – Trick 10

www.GuitarBandDVD.org presents another 2 Minute Guitar Trick. If you feel comfortable with Trick 9 then you will like how it integrates into Trick 10. This is a fun trick and will give you real satisfaction next time you solo on such Carlos Santana songs as Evil Ways and Black Magic Woman. These tricks (9 & 10) are more involved than some of the earlier ticks so they don’t fit into 2 minutes if they are to shown in detail. But in the name of elevating your playing it’s worth spending more time to show you.

@scoieman Shelter and Tagima, these two guitars have a model called Stratocaster, which is a good model for beginners and intermediaries.
However if you search a even more intermediary guitar, try Shelter Les Paul or Cort Les Paul.. thats my opinion
@scoieman Ibanez models aren’t all that expensive and they can hold up pretty well

i think you need to change the name of the video to “5 minute guitar tricks”
@scoieman there are many great choices…used can be a better deal if no fret-job is needed. always leave $ for a pro-setup. the PRS SE series are great and so are some of the lower-end fender guitars and epiphones. set a price limit and include at least another $50 to $75 for a setup.
any good ideas on a good, but cheep electric guitar?
im gonna get an electric guitar, but dont have much money. any suggestions on a cheap, but good guitar?
The guitar was built by John Carruthers (Venice, CA) and it can get a wide spectrum of tones. I use a handful of pedals and either an original 1966 Princeton Reverb or Matchless SC30 on these vids. Damn, you’re getting a nice thick tone out of an ash guitar. Not to mention maple / ebony neck, and a floyd too!
Should sound really bright and thin… but it doesn’t. What’s the secret?
Use a compressor. They are available in a variety of price points. I personally use the JoeMeek Floor Q optical compressor. I used a Carl Martin for years before that. Keely makes two very nice models. Try them all with your personal rig. Sustain is also in your touch and vibrato. Distortion increases sustain as well, but you need to sustain notes that are clean too, so practice your touch and try a compressor. Make sure you can return it.
so I have a random guitar question…
I would like to know what type of pedals I can add to my rig that would help with sustain…
Thinking of tone like Robin Trower, Tre Anastasio…i.e) holding long whole notes into fast jazzy licks…
I have the licks down….I am just having problems with sustain when i really dig into a note i want to hold

Thank you very much for this guitar tricks, i’m still a beginer but a learned a lot with that. Some of my collegues told me that i’ve improved my skills very fast just because i was playing around with yr posted tricks.

Yes, in fact when I was in Hawaii a couple of years back, people said that to me twice in the same day. Apparently he was had just visited a week before so lots of people stopped me to tell me that. Now if only I had his talent and his money. Or just the money would be fine. Hmmm, I wonder if he plays any guitar.
